49ers Trade Up: San Francisco Looking to Move Up in The 2013 NFL Draft

If the San Francisco 49ers trade up in the 2013 NFL Draft, will that make them the heavy favorite to win the Super Bowl in the 2013 NFL season? This might be something football fans should look at because NFL.com reported on April 22 that they want to trade up into the high teens in the first round of the draft.

The 2013 NFL Draft starts on Thursday night, April 25, and airs on both ESPN and the NFL Network.

The 49ers were a breath away from winning the Super Bowl last season, and have already used free agency to fix one of their problem areas by adding Anquan Boldin to their wide receiver corps. They also traded backup quarterback Alex Smith to the Kansas City Chiefs and look even more talented than they did when they made the Super Bowl last season.

If the 49ers trade up in the 2013 NFL Draft, they will add to an already impressive stockpile of picks, including seven in the rounds of two through five. However, trading up from the 31st overall spot to the early teens might involve giving up some of those picks.

What is interesting is that the 49ers are looking for depth, including some more talent along the already solid defensive line, as well as a good player to line up in two tight end sets with Vernon Davis. Moving up into the early teens could help them land players like DT Sheldon Richardson, DT Sylvester Williams or TE Tyler Eifert.

If the 49ers trade up in the 2013 NFL Draft, the rich just might get richer next season.
